This was Stella this morning, looking somewhat confused about the combination of sun and bitter temperatures...
Oh yes, it's brilliantly sunny here. Even blindingly so. That doesn't stop the temperatures from being in the negatives as the high.
Yup. This weekends forecast might as well say, "HA! Sorry, you ain't ridin'."
When I checked this morning it was 1 degree outside. The high today is *gasp* 3 DEGREES! The low? -10. Tomorrow is even worse: the high is -1F with a low of -22F and that's all without windchill. I had to really convince myself that the water buckets would stay unfrozen long enough for the horses to get any water from them. Ernie's is heated, but Stella's is not.
So I will be hauled up indoors for most of the weekend. It's just too cold to be in the barn (and believe me, I'd rather be there.) None of the horses seem to be bothered by the cold. Ernie was standing outside as usual this morning, taking in the sun, and Stella was napping under her tree. Cutest scene I've beheld in a while. Unfortunately as I drove up she got up so I didn't get a picture.
