Tagged and Updeets

Since I follow Eventing a GoGo, and since she tagged everyone who reads, I suppose I should share 7 things anyone who happens to be reading this doesn't already know:

1. I'm slightly OCD. I love nothing more than to fill binders with information I may never need, shelves with books I probably won't read, and everything laid out just the right way so that it can be easily accessed whenever. I should be a professional organizer or something, but I probably would drive myself crazy seeing other people's junk not neatly in a row. :)

2. I have an affinity for hot chocolate. The stuff is better than coffee. Seriously, nobody ever questions whose mug it is when there's one sitting on a grain bin or a tack box at the barn.

3. I actually do want to do some dressage shows. I don't ever really want to get super, super competitive, but some local schooling shows to start and then to some rated shows would be awesome. We have a great dressage organization, the Central Vermont Dressage Association (CVDA) that I interned with last year that is SUPER. Awesome people who love their horses and use shows for EXPERIENCE and LEARNING, NOT just for the shiny ribbons and points and end-of-year banquets.

4. I love my t-ruck. It technically says truck on the actual car and the registration, but I drive a '96 GMC Yukon. Best V8 you can find in a vehicle, I think. It's just so bad-ass...and it's black, and everyone knows black trucks are just awesome.

5. I write in my spare time. My mom keeps nagging me to get some of my stuff published, but it probably comes as no surprise that I like to write. Otherwise, why would I do this? I have so many good stories from my childhood, and I'm trying to get them together to create a memoir. I've also got some great horse stories about Ernie that should appear in a children's illustrated series: Ernie Makes a New Friend, Ernie Gets Hurt, Ernie Runs Away, Ernie Goes to College...

6. I'm actually kind of socially awkward. I appear completely normal when I'm around people, I'm relatively outgoing, cheerful, polite, friendly, etc., but I never quite feel at ease. That's part of the reason I've latched onto horses and stuck with it; horses are wonderful in that they have no judgments. If you take good care of a horse and treat them kindly, they are happy. They don't care if you have acne or bad hair or act like a goofball as long as you feed and love them.

7. I'm a wicked tomboy in the best sense possible. I have the occasional girly moment, but it's usually forced and encouraged by my (very girly) roommate or done for a (very) special occasion. I wear jeans and t-shirts most days, no jewelry except for a silver Celtic cross on a chain around my neck and a cartilage ring in my ear. I hardly EVER wear make-up; Chapstick is it most days, and I don't think I get to count that. And I don't do my hair. It goes up damp in a bun after I shower at night, and comes down in the AM. I wear it naturally curly/wavy, never straightened. It's not that I don't LIKE being girly or a little more dressy, I just don't have a practical purpose for it right now, especially when I attend a technical/agricultural school and am at the barn 3-5 hours of a given day.

There you go. And for good measure, here's Stella for you:

Isn't she KYOOOOOT? God I love that mare...
