Ernie Up & Coming!

I haven't posted in a while, but I've been inundated by very important things this week (AKA homework) so I haven't had to write much of anything.

I HAVE had time to ride (or I've made time, even if it means 6AM or 9:30PM, and I'm not making that up). Ernie has been very good; we're making progress in the canter, which has been awesome because I do miss being able to canter without feeling like I'm on a racetrack. His up transitions are so-so, but I'm not terribly concerned about that just yet. We spent a little time with them on Tuesday and I got a couple of FANTASTIC trot-canter transitions. I mean really FANTASTIC. So we're slowly marching on.

We had a mini barn party this evening with a couple of girls who board. It was basically the three of us grooming our horses in the aisle and gabbing about random crap, then all trekking up to the indoor to ride (or, in the other two girl's case, lunge). Ernie and I had what started out as a crappy ride, but progressed and ended VERY nicely. There were lots of pictures taken, which will be uploaded as soon as my friend gets her act together and loads them. Ernie's slightly naked; I had to body clip him again a couple weeks ago because he'd grown damn near all his hair back, and I don't have time to shed out two horses, plus he sweats like a real dude.

I hope everyone has been having as good of weather as we have; 45 degrees, sun, no wind? I say awesome.
